Under the Strawberry Moon: A Sacred Midsummer Evening

A sacred midsummer evening for the community before summer truly begins.

On Sunday, June 28, we gather indoors at Northern Light Yoga for an evening of heart opening yoga, sacred mantra, live music, gong and sound healing.

**This is not only a class. It is a gathering.

A space to arrive, soften, connect and be carried by practice, sound and community.

The evening will be guided by Anand Raj, together with the musicians of Heart and Soul. Through gentle heart-opening yoga, mantra chanting with live music, gong vibrations and deep sound healing, we will create a meditative space for renewal, release and inner connection.

**The theme of the evening is Strawberry Moon and midsummer: the turning point of light, warmth, and expansion. A moment to pause, breathe, listen inwardly, and open the heart before the summer season unfolds.

We begin softly with arrival and grounding. From there, we move into a guided heart-opening yoga session, supported by breath and presence. The practice will then flow into sacred mantra chants with live music, inviting the voice, heart and nervous system into resonance.

The evening will close with gong and sound healing, allowing the body and mind to settle into deep rest.


You do not need previous experience with yoga, mantra or meditation. Come as you are.

A Full Day of Deep Meditation at Karma Shedrup Ling Ashram

This is a day of deep practice, inner fire, and transformation.

Through powerful Kundalini Yoga meditations, we will enter the deeper layers of the mind, the nervous system, and the subconscious patterns that shape our lives. This is a space to burn through old karma, break repetitive habits, release inner tension, and reconnect with the still point within.

At the beautiful Karma Shedrup Ling Ashram, only 30 minutes from Oslo, we will gather for a full day of meditation, silence, mantra, mudra, breath, and deep inner work.

This day is for everyone who feels called to enter a serious meditative process — whether you already love meditation, practice regularly, or feel ready to step deeper into the inner journey.

Through strong and precise techniques from the Kundalini Yoga tradition, we will work with karmic patterns, old habits, and inner imprints that shape the way we think, feel, react, and relate. These practices support nervous system regulation and re-patterning, helping us release what no longer serves us and open into greater clarity, stability, awareness, and freedom.

We will move into stillness, presence, and expanded awareness — touching the experience of singularity, oneness, and the deep connection between the individual self and the greater whole.

This inner work prepares us to live life more fully and heart-centered: in deeper contact with ourselves, with each other, and with our environment. Instead of running from the past or constantly chasing the future, we practice arriving here — in the living presence of this moment.

The day will include both individual meditations and partner meditations. Some practices will be in silence, while others will use specific mantras and mudras. Together, we create a field of deep focus, inner listening, and shared presence.

This meditation day is part of the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training requirements, but it is open to everyone who wishes to dedicate a full day to meditation, self-awareness, silence, and spiritual depth.

You do not need to be a teacher trainee to join. You only need the willingness to practice sincerely and give yourself fully to the process.

We will practice a series of Kundalini Yoga meditations, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes each, with enough breaks for food, rest, integration, and walks in nature.

If you are not staying overnight at the ashram, please arrive no later than 09:15 so you have time to settle in. The meditations will begin 09:30 sharp.

Vi samles i sirkel, i et rom som er både uhøytidelig og hellig – hvor stemmene våre får flyte sammen. Her skaper vi et syngende, kjærlig, inkluderende og lekent fellesskap. Et sted å lande, puste og være akkurat den du er.

Dette er ikke en konsert.
Det er en deltagende, levende praksis.

Vi ønsker å invitere deg til en reise igjennom ulike Soundscapes, i Northern Light Yoga sine flotte lokaler.

Lydlandskapene skapes av tre ting:

Instrumentene som spilles, vår tilstedeværelse av åpenhet, samt samskapelsen som oppstår i rommet.

Instrumentene vi åpner lydbildene med, er både akustiske og elektroniske.

Vi bruker mange ulike gonger, tibetanske syngeboller, krystallinstrumenter, fløyter fra ulike deler av verden; Vietnam, Japan, India, Nepal, Irland og Sør-Amerika, vil bli representert her. Handpan, gitarer, vokal, synthesizer og trommer er også deler av lydbildene under kveldens meditative konsert.

Intensjonen for denne kvelden er å skape forutsetninger for din egen bevissthets oppdagelsesreise gjennom varierte, og store lydlandskap.

Hvem er vi?

Jeg er Eva Cathrine Hildal, og oppdaget gongens verden gjennom min Kundalini yoga utdannelse i 2017. Jeg har siden da holdt jevnlige gongbad flere steder i Nord-Norge.

Jeg er opptatt av 'hvordan det indre landskap utfolder seg hos lytterne gjennom gongens og lydenes vibrasjoner. Under mine gongbad sier mange etterpå, at de har vært på en reise i naturen.

Min kreative bakgrunn er fotograf og har tidligere hatt en fotoutstilling hos bl.a Northern Light Yoga. Tittelen på den utstillingen var “Mellomrommet” der bildene mine viste den sjelelige kontakten mellom gong, mennesker og natur.

På den vernissagen holdt vi, jeg og Mats en konsert sammen. Da med gong-oppsett og fløyte som en del av en helhetlig opplevelse.

Mats Graf er multiinstrumentalist, yoga- og meditasjonslærer og terapeut. Jeg driver kurs- og behandlingssenteret www.isenter.no, og holder jevnlige konserter og lydreiser der, samt gir ut musikk på streamingplattformene.

Jeg har lang erfaring som meditasjonslærer, etter 9 år i en yoga ashram i unge år. Senere har jeg utviklet det å benytte musikk, klanger og lydfrekvenser i format av meditasjonsveiledning, altså å bruke lyd og musikkinstrumenter som veiledning. Jeg har skapt et lydhealing konsept med store lydlandskap med mye romklang, der du “bader” i improviserte melodier, rytmer og lydbakgrunner fra fløyter, handpan/hangdrum og gitarer, samt dyp sang og overtonesang.

Etter denne musikkreisen, serveres det te og det blir rom for god prat for de som ønsker det.

In times of great collective rapture we gather around the sacred altar to explore the real possibility for inner peace, supported by the practice of conscious breathing and live sound current.

Conscious breathing allows for an intimate connection with the flesh and bones of our human experience, and when practiced with kindness it gives a rare chance to dissolve inner conflict and tension. Guided by currents of live and spontaneous soundscaping, the horizon widens and wise understanding can dawn. From the field that arises when we practice together like this, a prayer goes forth - like a «Wind of Peace» to all beings.

The program will be guided and easy to follow, no prior experience needed.
The evening will be guided by Magnus Jonas accompanied by Sigmund and Rutt from «Flowers of the Forest».

Magnus has been offering breathing practices and prayer work for the last 10 years, with a focus on how heartfelt exploration of the human experience can become a gateway for our awakening. Magnus Jonas lives and works at Selvig Fredsgård, a center for inner and outer peace in Hurum. 


Flowers of the Forest is a musical journey created and composed by Sigmund Vatvedt and Rutt Treima. The group combines various musical expressions, cultures, and languages. It bridges the ancient and modern, inspired by folklore and traditions spanning the north, south, east, and west. The music embodies a deep spiritual calling that comes to life through the melodies, harmonies, and sounds. It is a powerful creative expression, a prayer of the souls yearning to awaken and live life fully from the heart.

Just a moment of pure creative expression among free thinkers in search of natural beauty, harmony, healing, and… groove!

Bring your voice, an instrument (or use those available at the studio), and come jam with us—or simply listen or dance when the rhythms become sweaty and groovy.
Before the jam, we will have a meditation for peace, led by Adriana to bring peace into our minds and into the agitated world we live in. She will start with a grounding meditation then a heart chakra opening meditation.

The jam will be dedicated to the beginning of the summer, and it will have a beautiful tropical/Brazilian vibe thanks to our amazing special guests from Brazil: the internationally renowned percussionist Célio de Carvalho, who was with us also during the first jam bringing his contagious positivity, and Rayam Soeiro: another brilliant musician from Brazil, who plays guitar, bass, drums… and more! Spring is here, and we have created something just for you.

Starting April 21 and 22, Northern Light Yoga in Ski opens three gentle, welcoming courses for mothers, babies, and toddlers — eight weeks of movement, closeness, and care.

Postnatal Yoga with Baby Massage Rebuilding your body after birth, one soft movement at a time. Core, pelvic floor, shoulders, and neck — all the places that carry so much. Your baby is part of every session, and each class ends with a grounding baby massage.

Toddler Yoga & Movement Gym For the little movers in your life — from crawling to four years old. Balance boards, gym balls, tunnels, and play. You move with them. It is loud and wonderful.

Pregnancy Yoga with Birth Preparation Rooted in MediYoga and Kundalini tradition. Breathing, presence, and soft repeated movements that support your body through every trimester and prepare you gently for what comes next.

All three courses run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 weeks, 60 minutes per class. You can join one or all three. Drop-in is always welcome. If you miss a class, you have 30 days to use it on any other class in the schedule.

We invite you to a powerful White Sound Gong Healing Meditation.

The evening begins with gentle somatic breathwork to help you fully arrive in your body. The breathing practice supports nervous system regulation, reduces mental tension, and prepares you to receive the sound in a grounded and safe way.

The gong produces a rich spectrum of frequencies and overtones. As the sound gradually builds, it forms a dense and continuous vibrational field often referred to as “White Sound.” The gong is considered one of the most powerful sound instruments because its vibrations can interrupt habitual thought patterns and guide you into a deep meditative state.

During the journey, you may experience activation, emotional release, deep relaxation, moments of bliss, or a profound internal reset.

Many participants report:

• A quieting of mental chatter

• Deep physical relaxation

• Emotional release

• Nervous system regulation

• Expanded awareness

• A sense of clarity and inner renewal

The White Sound phase is intense, yet carefully guided and consciously held. The sound is built gradually, sustained with awareness, and then slowly dissolved into silence.

The silence that follows often feels spacious and deeply settling, allowing the body and mind to integrate the experience.

We close the evening with a healing chanting meditation circle. Using your voice after receiving the sound helps ground the body, stabilize the nervous system, and consciously integrate the journey.

This evening is an open introduction to the art of playing the gong — and an invitation into the meditative dimension of sound. This event also marks the opening of the Second Module of our Gong Training 2026.

Whether you are completely new to the gong or already experienced, this session offers a space to reconnect with the foundations: posture, touch, listening, and presence.

The gong is not only an instrument — it is a field of vibration that invites deep awareness.

We will explore simple playing techniques and, more importantly, the quality of listening behind the sound.

How do you approach the gong?

How does sound affect the nervous system?

What happens when playing becomes meditation?

Through guided exercises and shared practice, you will experience how the act of playing can shift from “doing” into allowing — from creating sound to entering silence.

This evening can be taken as a standalone event or as the gateway into Module 2 of the Gong Master Training.

Strukturert som dette - over tre påfølgende uker, blir denne fordypningen et trygt rom til å bli kjent med pustens utrolige potensiale, fordøye ditt livs nåværende utfordringer og å bringe frem de fineste sidene av deg selv.

«Awakening is really a series of softenings» - Richard Rudd

Welcome to a special evening at Northern Light with Mats and Magnus, exploring the art of softening. Through breath, movement and mindful presence we will explore how we can regain our natural capacity to soften, leading to a more open, fluent and embodied state of presence. Softness in this context is not about becoming limp, but about learning how to be flexible and relaxed in the face of life's turbulence. When stiffened places in the body and mind soften, life force can flow more freely, which also gives new possibilities for who we can be, and what kind of life we ​​can lead.

The first part of the evening will consist of an exploration of the physical body through Yin Yoga, an introspective form of embodied practice where all postures are done lying down or sitting. In Yin Yoga, the postures are held for several minutes, and the focus is on opening connective tissue and deep physiological structures. The second half of the evening will take place in the name of the breath, and will be done lying down on your back. Through open and conscious breathing, we will explore how we can regain flexibility throughout the mind body complex. The evening will also provide space for joint exploration and sharing of what lies behind each microscopic softening.

The workshop is led by Mats Onsum and Magnus Jonas. Mats has been teaching yoga since 2016, and has continuously expanded both skills and understanding through immersion in various yogic traditions and practices. He is known for his playful Vinyasa, often with strong and challenging Yogic Arts elements woven in, as well as deeply calming Yin Yoga and Mindful Yoga classes. Mats also has a background as a poet, songwriter and rap artist which is reflected in the way he holds space – with presence, inspiration and a clear ability to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Magnus Jonas has over the past 10 years been a pioneer within breath-based practice in Norway. With a background in Western psychology, and with initiation into several Eastern wisdom traditions, he holds space for awakening and development with generosity, wisdom and a deep interest in what actually works to give birth to a richer and more meaningful life.

Velkommen til «PUST» - en terapeutisk og åndelig fordypning over tre uker veiledet av din egen pust.

~~~ Pustearbeid seiler opp som en av vår tids populære praksiser, da den på en enkel og tilgjengelig måte gir dype opplevelser av helbredelse, transformasjon og selvoppdagelse. Strukturert som dette - over tre påfølgende uker, blir denne fordypningen et trygt rom til å bli kjent med pustens utrolige potensiale, fordøye ditt livs nåværende utfordringer og å bringe frem de fineste sidene av deg selv.

~~~ Fordypningen er skreddersydd for at du skal kunne dra full nytte av pustepraksisens frukter - både de som spirer momentant mens du puster, og de som modner i det du integrerer innsiktene inn i ditt dagligliv. Formatet baserer seg både på introspektiv pusteteknikk og felles utforskning i gruppe. Det undervises ikke «pusteøvelser» du kan ta med hjem, men legges til rette for at mennesker med appetitt for helbredelse, personlig transformasjon og åndelig oppvåkning kan bli støttet i sin prosess. Stilen av Breathwork som tilbys i denne fordypningen er beskrevet av deltagere som både mykere og dypere enn andre type Breathwork.

I denne sirkelen er alle utfordringer og potensialer du ser i deg selv ønsket fullt velkomment. Fordypningen er designet for å støtte både erfarne pustere og nysgjerrige nykommer.

Fordypningen er ledet av Magnus Jonas, som gjennom de siste 10 årene har vært en pioner innenfor pustebasert praksis i Norge. Welcome to a special evening at Northern Light with Mats and Magnus, exploring the art of softening. Through breath, movement and mindful presence we will explore how we can regain our natural capacity to soften, leading to a more open, fluent and embodied state of presence. Softness in this context is not about becoming limp, but about learning how to be flexible and relaxed in the face of life's turbulence. When stiffened places in the body and mind soften, life force can flow more freely, which also gives new possibilities for who we can be, and what kind of life we ​​can lead.

The first part of the evening will consist of an exploration of the physical body through Yin Yoga, an introspective form of embodied practice where all postures are done lying down or sitting. In Yin Yoga, the postures are held for several minutes, and the focus is on opening connective tissue and deep physiological structures. The second half of the evening will take place in the name of the breath, and will be done lying down on your back. Through open and conscious breathing, we will explore how we can regain flexibility throughout the mind body complex. The evening will also provide space for joint exploration and sharing of what lies behind each microscopic softening.

The workshop is led by Mats Onsum and Magnus Jonas. Mats has been teaching yoga since 2016, and has continuously expanded both skills and understanding through immersion in various yogic traditions and practices. He is known for his playful Vinyasa, often with strong and challenging Yogic Arts elements woven in, as well as deeply calming Yin Yoga and Mindful Yoga classes. Mats also has a background as a poet, songwriter and rap artist which is reflected in the way he holds space – with presence, inspiration and a clear ability to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Magnus Jonas has over the past 10 years been a pioneer within breath-based practice in Norway. With a background in Western psychology, and with initiation into several Eastern wisdom traditions, he holds space for awakening and development with generosity, wisdom and a deep interest in what actually works to give birth to a richer and more meaningful life.

Joik - et «språk» fra sjel til sjel (intro kurs)

Bli med på en spennende reise i den samiske vokaltradisjonen joik. Du får lære om joik og får bruke din egen stemme i fellesskap med andre.

Du vil lære om joikens funksjon, vokalteknikker, joikestavelser, joikens historie og ulike tradisjoner. Vi vil lære noen joiker og jobbe med spontane lyduttrykk basert på joikestavelser.

Kurset er et introkurs, hvor det blir en god blanding av foredrag/kåseri om joik med lytteeksempler og aktiv medvirkning i joikeuttrykk sammen. Det blir en inspirerende, åpnende og givende stund.

Om kursholder

Grethe Midgaard Torrissen fra Circles of Sound bruker joik som uttrykk i musikk og meditative lydreiser. Hun har samiske aner, er musiker, yogalærer og innehaver av kurssenteret og småbruket Circles of Sound Ecofarm.

Grethe har studert joik ved Nord Universitet, og gjennom sin fordypning har hun fått innsikt i hvordan joik kan brukes til dyp kommunikasjon mellom mennesker, natur og sjel/ånd. Hun har selv erfart hvordan joiken bidro til kontakt med et dypere og mer genuint uttrykk – med stemmen og seg selv. Joik kan endre stemning og bevissthet om det som joikes.

Musikkuttrykket hun skaper i sin egen musikk er inspirert av nordisk ursang, naturen, åndelige tradisjoner og mytiske vesener som huldra og alver. Hun bruker joik, strupesang og mantra i sin lydmessige «verktøykasse».

Mer om joik

Joik har en særegen plass i den samiske kulturen – både som folkemusikk, som verktøy for noaiden i den gamle samiske religionen/spiritualiteten, som kommunikasjon med naturen og som en måte å skape samhold og felles forståelse på. Du vil få oppleve hvordan joiken på en lydmalende måte speiler det som joikes.

Det heter seg at du blir det du joiker. Du vil lære mer om og erfare joikens kraft til å endre sinnsstemning og påvirke tilstedeværelse.

Joik har mange fellestrekk med andre urfolks vokaltradisjoner og med hvordan mantra brukes i ulike tradisjoner.

Det blir en inspirerende og givende stund – en blanding av læring, opplevelse, lytting og aktiv deltakelse.

The gong’s sound works beyond words, allowing transformation to happen naturally — melting old patterns and creating space for clarity, rest, and rejuvenation.

This day, Friday, January 30, marks the official beginning of the Gong Master Course with Anand Raj & Tor Arne Håve.


This course opens a structured and in-depth exploration of gong playing, sound healing, and conscious facilitation through vibration and resonance.

The Gong Master Course is a comprehensive training consisting of four modules, designed to equip participants with both theoretical understanding and strong practical skills. Throughout the course, you will learn how to play different gongs and how to guide Gong Meditations, Soundbaths, and Gong Ceremonies with confidence and sensitivity.
Each module can be certified separately, allowing flexibility in your learning process.

Our focus is firmly on practical learning. You will be given plenty of opportunities to practice, receive feedback, and deepen your experience step by step. Personal growth is an essential part of this training, which is why the course includes coaching, study groups, and personal follow-up from the main teachers, supporting both your technical development and personal practice.
