Courses for Mama & Baby
Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Toddler Yoga
New 6 week Courses Starting 18. August with Mette
Give yourself calm and closeness, and your baby will feel every bit of it.
Strengthen the bond with yourself and your baby, both during pregnancy and after birth.
Yoga is a safe and holistic form of exercise, both during and after pregnancy, supporting the physical and emotional changes that occur in a woman’s body and mind. Through presence, movement, and meditation, you can strengthen your body, calm your mind, and create an inner balance that both you and your baby will benefit from.
This is a gift for yourself and your baby – whether you want to give your baby a harmonious start in the womb or rebuild yourself after birth.
At Northern Light Yoga, we aim to create a safe and inclusive space where you are seen, welcomed, and cared for. In our pregnancy and postnatal yoga courses, we place great emphasis on personal guidance and adaptation, so that each exercise supports you exactly where you are.
Here you will find care, closeness, and a mindful community that inspires growth, strength, and joy.

POSTNATAL YOGA with BABY
Postnatal Yoga is a 60-minute class with MediYoga-based exercises in gentle, repeated movements lasting 1–3 minutes, with breaks for rest and mindful breathing. The class is adapted so that everyone can participate, regardless of fitness level or experience.
You will do exercises that strengthen the core muscles, relieve back pain, tone the abdomen, strengthen the pelvic floor, and release tension in the neck and shoulders – areas often stressed by carrying a baby. This can contribute to better posture and less discomfort.
The baby also gets to be active through small exercises and movements that support motor development, provide sensory stimulation, and create closeness between you.
In addition, you will learn massage techniques that can soothe colic, promote better sleep, support the baby’s development, and strengthen bonding. The class ends with a short baby massage, and you can take breaks for feeding or diaper changes as needed.
I focus on creating a calm and safe space where you can be present with your baby while strengthening your body, reducing stress, and learning useful techniques for the postnatal period.
TODDLER Yoga/Gym
YogaGym for toddlers and parents is suitable for children from the age of active movement (around when the child starts crawling or walking) up to 3–4 years old.
Parents participate actively and guide the child through exercises in a 60-minute class that combines stretching, play, gentle movements, and relaxing cool-down exercises. We roll, make bridges, use gym balls, balance boards, and tunnels – all to make movement fun and developmental.
The classes support the child’s motor development, balance, coordination, and body control, while also stimulating brain development through sensory experiences, concentration, and problem-solving. The relaxation exercises help the child calm down, connect with their body, and develop focus.
In addition, the classes strengthen security, interaction, and communication between child and parent – providing a fun space to laugh and enjoy time together.
Bring water and wear comfortable clothing – for both parents and children.
PREGNANCY YOGA
GRAVIDYOGA
Pregnancy Yoga is a gentle 60-minute class focused on relaxation, presence, and soft, repeated movements that promote well-being and strengthen the bond between mother and baby. The course is based on MediYoga, which has roots in Kundalini Yoga and a research-based approach emphasizing stress reduction, increased circulation, and balance in the body.
You will do calm, adapted movements that massage the body, release tension, and provide a positive physical and mental experience. Breathing exercises, relaxation, and meditation support both you and your baby, promoting calm and presence.
We briefly discuss the physical and emotional changes during pregnancy and learn exercises that support the body and prepare it for childbirth. We cover birthing positions and breathing techniques you can use during labor, and also touch on topics related to the postnatal period and the needs after birth.
Warm welcome!
Taking care of yourself is the greatest gift you can give your child. Every session of yoga or play creates closeness, security, and well-being for both of you.
Å ta vare på deg selv er den fineste gaven du kan gi barnet ditt. Hver time med yoga eller lek skaper nærhet, trygghet og velvære for dere begge.
